POLICE have launched an investigation after a video confirmed a black man apparently being kneed and punched as eight officers wrestled him to the ground.

Footage reveals a squad of cops restraining the person on a road in Croydon, South London final Friday. A police spokesman stated the person had tried to run from officers, who believed he had a weapon. A member of the general public movies the incident on Wellesley Highway simply after 2pm. They’re seen hauling him to the pavement subsequent to a police van. One cop seems to intention his knee on the man as officers grapple with him. After the police pull him to the ground, two officers kneel down subsequent to him.

 

Three cops then stroll away from the scene, leaving 5 others surrounding the person. Shouts could be heard earlier than an officer seems to swipe two punches on the man as he’s pinned to the ground. The video ends with the person sat on the pavement as law enforcement officials stand round him. A person who alerted the Me to the incident by posting it on Twitter, wrote: “Would anyone like to elucidate this??

“This was in Croydon. The man seemed terrified and the way in which the police kick and hit him, I am not stunned.”

Solar On-line has contacted the Met for remark.

A Met police spokesman instructed My London officers in a marked car noticed a person operating away after seeing them.

The spokesman stated: “He was instructed to cease however continued to run. Officers noticed what seemed to be a pointy object in his hand.

“Officers adopted the person and tried to detain him for the needs of a search. Throughout this the person resisted and have become aggressive.

“Quite a few officers restrained the person and he was positioned in handcuffs as they believed he had a weapon on him.

“No weapon was discovered however an umbrella spoke was discovered close by which the person admitted to discarding whereas operating from police.
